The Kayatta Family has been working on renovating their beautiful 150 year old Victorian home in Portland. Nautilus Construction stepped in to complete their new kitchen and leveled off first floor floors and ceilings to give their space a clean new look.
The design process involved taking the family’s vision and working collaborating to make the design/build process seamless. The construction began with gutting the kitchen and all the floors and ceilings. Nautilus Construction laid down all new Maple flooring, white cabinetry, fresh new ceilings, two walls of white subway tile, and a black island that is multi-functional for the family.
The project was successful and reaching the Kayatta’s goals and their new kitchen and flooring. The space is clean and comfortable and this old Victorian home has a renovated space that works well for the family.

The Gant Family needed more space and better flow to their Colonial home in Kennebunk. They entertain often and have young children and needed space for entertaining and a better set up for family dining. They hired us to do a kitchen renovation and they also chose to remove a bathroom, add hardwood floor and added a beautiful new kitchen island. The kitchen was completely demoed and was created new with new white shaker cabinets and new quartz countertops. We added new subway tile, a new island, and took down part of the kitchen wall to open up the space and create a open concept for the first floor.
This summer home on Old Orchard Beach has been in the family since it was built in the 1800’s. The owners have come from South Carolina every summer to enjoy Maine summers. Their vision is to now turn this summer home into a year round house. This will involve a complete demolition of the existing home. Then using the talented design build team we will create a year round house.

Soon the beaches will be filling up in Ogunquit. This small beach house is walking distance to the beach and will be in all its glory once summer hits. This design and build project has included replacing the existing foundation and adding on 1,700 square feet. It is not a small home renovation; rather a large transformation of an incredible beach house with an incredible location in Ogunquit, Maine. We added bedrooms and large great room with a 28 foot Cathedral ceiling.
The two pictures included are of the framing of the large addition. We are excited to see how all the renovations give this beach home an exciting finish!!
The Russells come to Wells, ME from Easton, MA. They are wonderful to work with and their vision for creating a space to entertain their grandchildren, family and friends is full of comfort and an eye for detail. The addition we added to their Colonial in Wells was 800 square feet. It included a great room and large kitchen space with a 9 by 7.5 ft island, perfect for entertaining.
Also, in the great room is the pictured stone fireplace. Custom built by George Burr and Son. The Mantel will be custom built. It will be made of pine that will be distressed and stained. It really will be a focal point for their entertaining space in the great room. The walls are paneled in wainscoting and ceiling was done in bead board in the great room.
We are currently still working on the complete interior and exterior renovation. More pictures to come!
The Woolf Family comes from Chicago to visit all that the seaside community of Kennebunk has to offer. There were two phases in this remodeling job. It was a pleasure to work with designer, Cathy Rowe, of Well Dressed Interiors. Cathy positioned the new layout and design for all remodeling. The move of laundry room created some design challenges, so we designed and built a custom barn door to enter the bathroom.
Phase one included a complete house renovation by Nautilus Construction. Our kitchen renovation included a new custom bench for their dining space. The new kitchen is practical and comfortable. We added new engineered flooring and removed popcorn ceiling throughout. We built new stair treads and added fresh paint throughout the new space. Phase two included moving the laundry room from downstairs up to master bathroom. Nautilus Construction also remodeled both bathrooms and created a custom shower off the master bedroom. We worked hard to fulfill the homeowners visions and style and the end result was pleasing to all.
Joel and Lauren Murray live in Massachusetts and most recently purchased a vacation home in Cape Elizabeth. Their vision and taste for this coastal home renovation was clean, classic and perfect for their location.
The renovation included a new front door, new windows, two new bathrooms, new kitchen and the installation of a rustic beam as well as an accent wall. The shiplap wall paired with the gray/blue accent wall in the living room, gives this home a classic coastal feel as well as cozy welcoming feel.
It has been a pleasure working with the Murray family. They will return this Thanksgiving to enjoy friends and family at their vacation home in Cape Elizabeth and I am assured their new space will feel as welcoming and cozy as they had hoped.
